India national cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma is going through a torrid time in the ongoing second Test against the Australia national cricket team. The 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy pink ball match will be played at the Adelaide Oval in Adelaide, which kicked off on Friday (December 6).
After the Indian national cricket team gave their all for 180 runs, pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj put in difficult yards. The duo bowled impeccable lines and lengths and troubled the Australian national cricket team with the lights slowly coming into effect.
With the kind of bowling they displayed, the Indian national cricket team would have had the wicket of opener Nathan McSweeney. But the opportunity was missed by Indian national cricket team skipper Rohit Sharma as well as wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant.
On the third ball of the 7th over, Jasprit Bumrah bowled a short length to which Nathan McSweeney had to bowl. The ball left him late and took the outside edge but to the right of Rishabh Pant. The keeper-batsman left with his right hand outstretched and jabbed and collected the fingertip.
With his little touch, the ball ricocheted and hit Rohit on the hand as the Indian national cricket team skipper grimaced in pain. Had Rishabh Pant not attempted it, the ball would have fallen straight into the captain's hand at first slip.

Rohit Sharma takes an easy catch to remove Usman Khawaja
However, a few balls later, Rohit corrected himself and took a catch in slips to remove Usman Khawaja. Jasprit Bumrah drew first blood for his team when he produced a delivery of peaches to send off the Australian national cricket team's opening sweep.
Jasprit Bumrah bowled a short delivery on the fifth-sixth line of stump and the ball went away. Usman Khawaja stayed back but couldn't cover it properly as the ball took the thick outside edge and flew towards Rohit's left as the captain took a decent catch.
Rohit Sharma was back in the hut for just 3 runs as he batted at no.6
Rohit Sharma, so far, has had a bad run in the game. The Indian national cricket team skipper sacrificed his top spot for KL Rahul and reduced the order to No.6. But this decision did not pay off for him.
Rohit Sharma was back in the hut for just 3 runs. Not only the skipper, but the entire Indian national cricket team did not have a good outing with the bat. They went all out for 180 runs with Nitish Kumar Reddy being the pick of the batters with his score of 42 runs.
Skipper Rohit Sharma will hope to make a strong comeback and help his team win the match. He would be under pressure to score runs as since the last innings he has been looking scorching with the bat.
