A person (in his 40s) has died after a automotive entered water on the Grand Canal in Co Kildare.
The incident occurred at round 8pm on Saturday in Grangeclare West, Kilmeague.
The person was recovered from the water and handled by Nationwide Ambulance Service crew. He was pronounced lifeless on the scene.
The person’s physique has been faraway from the scene and an post-mortem will happen.
The scene is at the moment being held for examination by forensic collision investigators and the Garda Water Unit. Entry alongside the canal is at the moment restricted.
Gardaí have appealed for witnesses.
