After a truly disastrous month, Arsenal have looked back at their shining best over the past two weeks.
Mikel Arteta The team has won four in a row and, thanks to Newcastle United, is now just seven points ahead of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League painting.
However, the north Londoners simply need to concentrate on each game as it comes, and with the sensational talent Martin Odegaard back in top form, they will imagine themselves facing any opposition.
Fans should therefore be excited by recent reports linking the club with an extraordinary striker who would only boost the Norwegian's creative numbers.
Arsenal transfer news
According to a recent report from Caught OffsideArsenal still intend to sign a new striker in 2025, and one of the names on their target list is Victor Osimhen.
However, the bad news is that the Gunners could have tough competition as the report reveals that cross-city rivals Chelsea have also identified the Nigerian superstar as a 2025 target.
There is some good news though, as the report claims the Napoli ace would be available for around €75m – £62m – due to his surprising lack of suitors over the summer, which which could prove to be a good deal for someone of his abilities.
Overall, this could still be a tough transfer to get through, but given Osimhen's incredible ability, it's worth pursuing, especially as he would surely boost Odegaard.
Why Osimhen would energize Odegaard
So when you really break it down, there's one clear and incredibly simple reason why signing Osimhen would boost Odegaard: his sensational production.
The goalscoring “monster”, as they call him by analyst Raj Chohanhas proven over the last few years to be one of the best strikers around, and so with someone who can reliably finish off chances, as well as create them, it would make sense that the passing total decisive attacks from the Norwegian explode.
For example, since the start of the 22/23 season, the “world class” poacher, as he is nicknamed by managerial icon José Mourinhomarked 57 goals and delivered 14 assists in just 83 club appearances, which equates to a sublime average of a goal every 1.16 games.

On the other hand, Kai Havertz found the back of the net 32 chances and provided nine assists in 118 appearances, while Gabriel Jesus scored 20 goals and delivered 16 assists in 86 appearances, an average of one goal every 2.87 and 2.38 matches, respectively.
So if the Gunners captain managed to rack up a total of 36 goals and 28 assists for the club without ever actually playing with a prolific number nine, imagine how impressive his numbers would be with just one in the team.
Plus, while some may blame him for the former LOSC Lille ace's transfer to Galatasaray in the Turkish Super Lig, you only need to see how easily he tore apart Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League to know he would be more than capable to play in the Premier League.
Ultimately, Arsenal are already a great team, but if they had a number nine up front they would be even more dangerous and Odegaard even more of a threat.
So the Gunners need to do everything they can to secure Osihmen's signature next year before someone else beats them to it.
