SEOUL (Reuters) – At the least 28 individuals have been killed on Sunday after a passenger aircraft veered off the runway and crashed at South Korea’s Muan Worldwide Airport, Yonhap information company reported .
The accident occurred because the Jeju Air aircraft, carrying 175 passengers and 6 crew members from Thailand, was touchdown on the nation’s southern airport, the report stated.
Two individuals have been discovered alive because the rescue mission continued, in accordance with Yonhap.
Authorities have been working to rescue individuals within the rear part, an airport official advised Reuters.
Photographs shared by native media confirmed smoke and flames engulfing elements of the aircraft.
