Once captain under previous Chelsea bosses, the England international was deemed surplus to requirements at Maresca, and is widely believed Chilwell set to leave Stamford Bridge in January.
Cesare Casadei, who worked with Maresca at Leicester City during their promotion campaign, is now no longer liked by his manager at Chelsea, leading to speculation he could follow Chilwell and Chukwuemeka out of the door.
Juventus and Milan reportedly interested in Casadei as the winter window approaches, perhaps a return to his homeland is on the cards for the former Inter youngster.
There have even been suggestions this week that Chelsea could get rid of Axel Disasi in January to free up funds for the transfer of Benfica starlet Tomas Araujo, January could therefore be active in terms of player exits.
Chelsea could loan Estevao Willian in 2025
One sure arrival in 2025 is Brazilian starlet Estevao Willian, who Chelsea have signed in a deal that could be worth their while. £52 million from Palmeiras in summer.
The 17-year-old, who has 13 goals and nine assists in Brazil's Serie A in 2024, will join the Blues in July next year – and is highly rated by big names like Ronaldo Nazario.
However, with him set to arrive in west London on the back of excellent form and reputation, there are fears behind the scenes that competition for places could delay Estevao's minutes.
This is a concern shared by the player and the club, with a Spanish media source claiming that Chelsea consider loaning Estevao again once he lands in London from Palmeiras next summer.
The teenage sensation, who is his agent, Andrew Crurycompared to Lionel Messi, has also been described as a “phenomenon” and tipped to win the Golden Ball one day – so it is imperative that Chelsea do not stunt their growth.
“It’s a real phenomenon” Crury told AS (via Sport Witness).
“It’s the next Ballon d’Or [winner]. His name is Estevão. He looks a lot like Leo. He has power on set pieces, he is also left-footed. Not physically, because he's taller, he's black, but there are things that remind him of Messi.”
