The Federal Capital Territory Police Command mentioned it was not conscious of, neither is investigating, the alleged disappearance of N180 million from an NGO account owned by social media commentator Martins Utse, often known as VeryDarkMan.
In a video shared on Instagram on Friday, Otse claimed that N180 million had been transferred from the NGO’s account to an unknown account, leaving solely N20 million remaining.
“I have never been myself the previous few days.
“Somebody hacked the NGO’s web site, and N180 million was misplaced. Luckily, we tracked down the individual, and one of many suspects was arrested.
“The account is now on PND (non-debit). N20 million stays, whereas N160 million has been transferred. We’re heading to Jos to get well the cash.
Nevertheless, his claims raised doubts, with many questioning the credibility of his clarification.
When contacted on Saturday, spokesperson of the FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh, clarified that the command was not concerned within the matter.
“The FCT Police Command isn’t conscious of any case of lacking VDM funds and isn’t conducting any investigation into it,” Adeh acknowledged. “The individual involved needs to be contacted to make clear the place to report the matter, as there isn’t a file of such a case with the FCT Police Command.”
Efforts to succeed in the Drive Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, for remark have been unsuccessful, as calls to his line went unanswered.
He additionally didn’t reply to the letter despatched to him relating to the matter on the time of submitting this report.
