The star batsman of the Australian national cricket team Marnus Labuschagne and the young leader of the Indian national cricket team Harshit Rana engaged in an intense verbal exchange on Friday, December 6.
The incident between Marnus Labuschagne and Harshit Rana took place during the second Test of the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Adelaide Oval.

Harshit Rana and Marnus Labuschagne exchange a few words in Adelaide
Captain Rohit Sharma brought 22-year-old Harshit Rana back into the attack at 26th over for a short spell as the Indian national cricket team struggled to pick wickets.
Rana didn't look at his best in the innings and wasn't very precise with his lines and lengths. However, on the first ball of the 28th over, he gave Australia a scare by hitting Nathan McSweeney on the pads.
He bowled a 143.5 kmph full length delivery to McSweeney who beat the batter's defense on the inside edge and hit him on the front pad. The on-field referee, Richard Illingworth, rejected the appeal.
However, Rana persuaded his captain to use the review and send the decision upstairs. Tracking the ball showed that there was a lot of movement and the ball would have missed the stumps and India lost the review.
Meanwhile, in the 30th minute, Harshit Rana was involved in a verbal clash with Marnus Labuschagne. On the second ball of the over, Rana bowled a bouncer at 140.7 kmph and Labuschagne thought about playing a pull shot before bowing out at the last moment.
Just after the delivery, the batsman and bowler were seen exchanging words, with the Australian batter doing most of the talking. It didn't stop there as on the next ball, the leader threw a few words to the batter after throwing a good length ball at 141 km/h.

Marnus Labuschagne remains undefeated after the first day
Labuschagne is going through a tough time in Test cricket and was under pressure ahead of the Adelaide Test. There has been talk in the Australian media that he is on the verge of being ruled out if he fails the Adelaide test.
The 30-year-old failed badly in the first innings of the opening match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth as he was dismissed for 52 balls 2. Moreover, in the second innings he carried his arms towards A Jasprit Bumrah delivery and was fired for 3 races.
Before the second Test match, Labuschagne had recorded only 123 runs in his last 10 Test innings, including 90 in a single innings against New Zealand.
However, he took confidence from his past exploits at the Adelaide Oval as he averaged 71.75 there and batted quite well in the pink-ball Test against India.
The hitter showed a good hitting game and wasn't just trying to defend balls. He smashed 3 fours on the first day of the second Test and remained unbeaten at stumps (20 runs off 67 balls).
