DUBAI (Reuters) – An Iranian courtroom sentenced Iranian-American journalist Reza Valizadeh to 10 years in jail for working for a U.S.-funded radio station, his lawyer Mohammad Hossein Aghasi informed X on Saturday.
Iran and the US State Division earlier acknowledged the imprisonment in Iran of Valizadeh, who beforehand labored for Prague-based Radio Farda, a Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty channel overseen by the US Company for world media.
“The sentence imposed on Valizadeh for the crime of working at Radio Farda is ten years of imprisonment, a ban on keep within the province of Tehran and neighboring provinces, a ban on leaving the nation and becoming a member of political events , and so on. for 2 years,” Aghasi stated.
Iran doesn’t acknowledge second nationalities and treats twin nationals solely as Iranians.
