Cricket South Africa has parted ways with white-ball team batting coach JP Duminy. This comes after the team's former player resigned from his role on Friday (December 6) following a mutual agreement with the governing body.
Duminy was appointed as the white-ball head coach of the South Africa national cricket team in March 2023. He worked under head coach Rob Walter after the new era ushered in Proteas cricket after the end of Mark Boucher's passage.
South Africa has had decent success in white-ball cricket under the leadership of JP Duminy.
Under Duminy, South Africa enjoyed decent success in white-ball cricket. When he was in charge, the Proteas reached the semi-final of the ICC World Cup 2023 before losing to the Australian national cricket team in the knockout match.
Before joining South Africa, Duminy was the head coach of SA20 team Paarl Royals and national team Boland. There's a chance he'll take on that role. Recently, he was appointed as the head coach of Sharjah Warriorz in the International T20 League (ILT20).

Cricket South Africa has released the official statement, confirming the development around Duminy. They highlighted the contributions made by the former team player and said:
“Cricket South Africa (CSA) announces that JP Duminy has resigned from his role as White Ball Batting Coach with immediate effect, following a mutual agreement with the CSA based on personal reasons.
“JP Duminy, a stalwart of South African cricket, has been a key member of the limited-overs coaching team since his appointment in March 2023. His contributions to the growth and development of the batting department within the setup National White Ball Championship have been invaluable.”
The CSA wishes JP Duminy all the best in his future projects and thanks him for his contribution.
Cricket South Africa, while thanking Duminy for his contributions, revealed that they have started the process of appointing a new white-ball batting coach. The governing body's statement added:
“CSA wishes Duminy all the best in his future endeavors and thanks him for his contribution to the Proteas men’s team during his tenure. A process to identify a suitable replacement is currently underway, and the appointment of a new white-ball batting coach will be announced in due course.”

Duminy has been an incredible servant to the South Africa national cricket team. He played for 11 long years and finished with 46 Tests, 199 ODIs and 81 T20Is. The left-hander has scored 2103 runs in the longest format of the game, 5117 runs in ODIs and 1934 runs in the shortest format of the game.
