On Monday, December 2, Bryce James, the son of NBA superstar LeBron James, shared a simple but heartwarming Instagram Story about his “other brother's” 18th birthday. The post intended for Dezhon Hall, the 6-foot-3 point guard from Greenville, S.C., showed the strong bond the two emerging basketball players share.
Bryce James inserted a snap of himself and Hall posing in front of a mirror and attached a four-word message:
“I love you, Brodie 4L.”


Both Bryce and Hall are tremendous players and their friendship goes back a long way. The duo had actually played together on North Coast Blue Chips. Hall, on one occasion, admitted that he was very close to James' family and even considered LeBron James his uncle.
“I have known the family for about 10 years. Bryce and I played together on the North Coast Blue Chips a long time ago, and we became very close,” he told Zagsblog.
“So LeBron is like an uncle to me now. He is like a mentor. So I'm very close to the family. I go out to LA all the time to visit them.
Hall is a standout player at Legacy Early College, Greenville, SC, and a No. 20 point guard in the 2026 class according to 247Sports. During the 2023-24 season, he averaged 12 points, 1.9 assists and 2.8 rebounds in 13 games.
But Dejon Room really stood out during the final Adidas 3SSB session of the summer, where he put up 20 points and five assists per game for Phenom Unity. Even Bryce James praised his hoop skills, and in one case took to Instagram to appreciate his exceptional “sack work.”
He shared the story in April with a clip of Hall turning the opponent's defense into dust. He captioned the post with a bag emoji followed by the word “bag.”

The duo is certainly close and even visited Ohio State this time last year to evaluate their college prospects. While both have tons of college offers, Bryce's recruiting push is heating up as the No. 47 guard in the Class of 2025 enters his senior year at Sierra Canyon High School in Chatsworth, California.
Is Bryce James opting for the Arizona Wildcats?
Bryce James is a 3-star prospect with offers from colleges including Duquesne, Ohio State and USC. The 6-foot-6 guard visited Arizona last week, fueling speculation about his college recruitment. According to On3, Bryce also visited USC. However, nothing is confirmed about Bryce's college destination.
His mother shut down the rumors after Bruce Arizona's visit with an Instagram story captioned:
“#NotCommit”
Bryce will graduate from high school this spring, giving him plenty of time to evaluate all of his college options.
