Man Utd vs Nottingham Forest: preview, predictions and line-ups

Manchester United aim to bounce back from their first defeat of the Ruben Amorim era when they host Nottingham Forest on Saturday in the Premier League.

The Red Devils were undone by Arsenal's impressive routines on Wednesday night as they collapsed to a 2-0 defeat in north London. After a draw and two wins in his first three outings as Man Utd manager, this was Amorim's first defeat since arriving in England.

Man Utd still find themselves in the bottom half of the table as they welcome surprise overachievers Forest to Old Trafford. They have won just five of their first 14 Premier League matches, including one in a 4-0 win over Everton last weekend.

Forest's incredible early season form has disappeared in recent weeks. A run of difficult matches has proved a little too much for Nuno Espirito Santo's side, with defeats to Newcastle United, Arsenal and Manchester City in three of their last four outings. The injuries are starting to fade Man Utd ahead of a critical period for the Amorim team. Leny Yoro made his first appearance in competition for the Red Devils against Arsenal from the bench, meaning only Jonny Evans, Victor Lindelof and Luke Shaw are missing for the Manchester club this weekend.

It's still difficult to predict what we'll see from Man Utd, who have yet to fully convince under Amorim. Patience is required for the Old Trafford faithful, even if the 4-0 victory against Everton last weekend will have boosted morale.

Even a month ago, this fixture would have felt radically different. However, Forest find themselves in a tough patch following a run of defeats against strong opposition, with their previously stiff defense having been more shifty in recent outings.

It may not be convincing one way or the other, but individual quality and support from the home crowd could see Man Utd take the lead in this one.
