Nathan McSweeney scores a stunner to dismiss KL Rahul
The pivotal moment came during 18.4 when Mitchell Starc bowled a short delivery around off stump. Rahul, who was looking to defend the ball, hesitated momentarily, trying to pull his bat away at the last second. Unfortunately for him, it was too late; the ball grazed the face of his bat and flew low toward the gully. In a flash, McSweeney launched himself forward, extending his hands just in time to secure a clean grip beneath him. The third referee quickly confirmed the catch, leaving no doubt about its legitimacy.
This dismissal was important not only for its execution but also for its timing. Rahul looked solid at the crease, having scored 37 runs off 64 balls with six boundaries before his dismissal. The extra bounce Starc generated proved decisive, and McSweeney's catch illustrated the importance of playing good cricket, turning what could have been a stable partnership into a moment of despair for the Indian team.
