Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi says he 'loves' Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah, but reiterated there is no truth to rumors linking him with a transfer to the French giants.
Salah's future at Anfield remains uncertain, with his current contract set to expire at the end of the season. The Egyptian has 21 Premier League goals so far this season, six more than any other player, and has publicly hinted at his frustration with the situation.
PSG presented as a potential destination Should Salah leave Liverpool, even though Al-Khelaifi has already closed the stories which suggests he is interested in a move for the 32-year-old.
While attending the draw for the Club World Cup, PSGthe president said GIVEMESPORT: “I like Salah, also because he comes from our part of the world. I'm very proud of him, honestly, for what he did in the Premier League with Liverpool.
“And I have great respect for him and for Liverpool. So we never spoke to him. Respect Liverpool and respect the player. He has a contract with Liverpool and we have never spoken to him.”
Reds manager Arne Slot has already admitted this “difficult to predict” if Salah stays on Merseyside beyond the current season. Liverpool are well placed in the Premier League and Champions League but face further contractual dilemmas with defensive stars Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold also having contracts expiring this summer.
