A former WWE champion returned to weekly programming this past Monday after more than two years away. However, his return ended badly as his stablemates betrayed him. Meanwhile, wrestling veteran Jonathan Coachman recently addressed the emotional segment.
The wrestler in question is none other than Big E. The 38-year-old suffered a serious neck injury in March 2022 during a match between The New Day and The Brawling Brutes on SmackDown. Since then, he has been out of action despite being a panelist during the PLE pre-shows.
This past Monday, the former WWE Champion returned to RAW for The New Day's 10th anniversary celebrations. However, the segment saw his partners, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, turn on him. The wrestling veteran said the tear Big E shed on the red brand was real, adding that the 38-year-old would have wondered if his wrestling career was over. The former interim general manager of WWE RAW predicted that the former New Day member would never wrestle again.
“I think the emotion of tonight, Tommy, is [that] it crossed his mind and he thought, “Wait a second, is this really over?” And I think for Big E, it was an emotional moment because, Tommy, I think for him, it's really over. Don't you think so? I don’t think he’ll come back,” he said. [10:24-10:40]

On a Live Q&A on Backstage pass, FightVotes recently took stock of Big EThe future of in the ring after his return to WWE RAW last Monday. While the former WWE Champion revealed on the red brand that he was not cleared to compete, a recent report suggested he could be close to getting medical clearance.
