Kohli is the most successful Indian captain in the history of Test cricket. Under his leadership, he transformed the Test team and made them an unbeatable force at home and a dominant team in away matches.
He brought the fitness culture to the team and built an excellent fast bowling unit with the coaches who helped the Indian team register historic victories in the SENA Tests.
Virat Kohli captained the Test team from 2014 to 2022 in 68 matches and led them to 48 victories. He lost only 17 matches as a red-ball skipper and had a winning percentage of 58.82.
Occasionally he was seen helping the captain Rohit Sharma on the ground. A similar sort of thing happened on the first day of the Adelaide Test.
He gave some fielding suggestions to captain Rohit Sharma to break the partnership between Nathan McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne.
In the 17th over, Virat Kohli walked towards Rohit and had a small talk with him. It seemed that he made some suggestions to Rohit Sharma and after that asked Siraj to change the pitch.

However, Virat Kohli's suggestions did not work as Australian batters Nathan McSweeney and Marnus Labuschagne remained unbeaten at the end of the first day's play.
The duo were engaged in a stellar 62-year partnership as the Australian national cricket team had a record of 86/1 at stumps.
Talking about Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's performances with the bat, the Indian skipper managed to score just 3 runs off 23 balls while the batting stalwart, who hit a century in the Perth Test, scored 7 runs off 8 balls.
Indian bowlers haven't really used the pink ball as well as they should have – Sunil Gavaskar
Speaking on Star Sports, Indian national cricket team big-hitter Sunil Gavaskar expressed his disappointment over the performance of the Indian bowling unit.
He considered that the Jasprit BumrahThe bowling attack led by -failed to use the pink ball properly which led to their failure on the first day.
“They have to play hitters as much as they can. And that's what happens when you play hitters as much as you can.
“You can set them up by bowling a few deliveries outside off and then getting the ball back, like what happened to Nathan McSweeney in the Perth Test, or to Labuschagne in the Perth Test, like what Bumrah did “The Indian bowlers didn't really use the pink ball as well as they should have,” Gavaskar said.
