The Tingle Creek has Jonbon aiming to enter the history books as he looks to achieve back-to-back successes in this race at Sandown. Who is the panel for?
Host Kate Tracey is joined by attheraces.com's Declan Rix and BetVictor's Chris Poole to pick their best bets for the race.
Declan Rix…
“As the betting suggests, Jonbon is the most likely winner. He hasn't really captured people's imagination but he's a winning machine, he's simple and does an awful lot of things well.
“He's a real horse and he always seems to get the job done but I'm going to take him on in the betting without Jonbon with one of his old opponents in Edwardstone. It’s the track that brings out the best in him, he’s raced here four times – he’s won twice and finished third and second, so it’s the track for him.
“I like the fact that he is tactically versatile. Last time at Cheltenham the fire is still burning in his belly, he is a real horse who should be able to make this race suit him because he has a lot pace for running.”
Kate Tracey…
“I take exactly the same approach with Edwardstone on the market without. I think Jonbon will win, but I think Jonbon's price is increased accordingly, barring any weird incidents.
“I'd rather go to market without with the big old boy. He's just the obvious. Like Dec said, he loves it here, loves this ground, loves this race but probably isn't good enough to beat Jonbon . But he was second behind him by less than three lengths last year.
“Edwardstone seems like the obvious choice for me.”
Chris Poole…
“I think Jonbon will win the race, but the market development will be very interesting if he pulls away. I suspect that Master Chewy He could run very well here and I think the race should suit him, he runs better when held up and I think he brings a different shaped line to the race.
“Jonbon clearly beat Edwardstone and others and I think he will get the job done. He probably won't get the credit he deserves.”
