The Houston Astros could be one of the surprise teams that acquire Juan Soto out of nowhere. Currently, the two sides have reportedly not met, but that does not mean they should be ruled out.
Houston would be an interesting destination for the top free agent in the class. Soto would be an exciting addition to a team that already has the talent to do big things in 2025.

If they acquired Soto, they would scare off a lot of opposing pitchers. From Jose Altuve to Yordan Alvarez, here's what Houston's roster could look like next season with Soto.
- Jose Altuve
- Juan Soto
- Kyle Tucker
- Jordan Alvarez
- Jeremy Pena
- Yanier Diaz
- Jon Singleton
- Shay Whitcomb
- Jake Meyers
This is certainly a composition that could cause serious damage. Soto could hit two runs, allowing Alvarez to make big hits with runners on base.
The Houston Astros have more on their minds than Juan Soto this winter
The Houston Astros entered the offseason fearful of losing their two-time All-Star slugger Alex Bregman. The two sides could not agree on an extension and he became a free agent at the end of the season.
“Thank you Houston,” Bregman said.
While the 'Stros are still in play here, another team could make the jump and give Bregman what he's looking for. Someone like the New York Yankees could be an option for the slugger. They could use an upgrade at third base and move Jazz Chisholm Jr. to second.
For Houston, it seems more likely that they target Bregman before attempting to acquire Juan Soto. However, crazier things have happened this offseason, and fans will just have to wait and see how that plays out.
