FRANK Warren's Queensberry Promotions stages another “Magnificent 7” card live on TNT Sports. While the magnificence may not be as brilliant as some previous efforts, there's still plenty to sink your teeth into. Young prospects are vying for that vital positive next step. Old-school activists are looking to turn back time one last time. World title contenders compete for the right to advance. Let's see exactly who should take to the ring this Saturday night at Wembley Arena.
Brad Pauls vs. Denzel Bentley
Fans should witness a quality main event between contrasting but complementary styles. British middleweight champion Brad Pauls is looking to cap off a successful 2024 by adding the European title and some fringe world ranking belts to his trophy cabinet.
Pauls beat Heaney last time out, while a lackluster Bentley lost to Heaney. That doesn't mean much here, though, because Bentley blows hot and cold. If he shows up without any distractions, Pauls needs to be in top shape to win.
Sam Noakes vs. Ryan Walsh
After suffering the disadvantage of going the distance in his bid to win the European title against Yvan Mendy, Maidstone's Sam Noakes was back to his power best against Gianluca Ceglia. Ryan Walsh turned professional in 2008, is 38 years old and has outlived his boxing brothers. Even with four defeats and two draws on his record, Walsh's professionalism makes him a tricky client. Noakes' size and strength will be difficult to deal with.
Solomon Dacres vs. David Adeleye
Two heavyweights meet at a career crossroads, with the loser doomed to find themselves in a difficult situation for the future. Dacres are undefeated but struggling to impress. “The Real Deal” effectively banished the ghost of Michael Webster last time around, after their first close fight. Adeleye hasn't been seen since losing to Fabio Wardley over a year ago. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in what could be a slow-paced affair.
Lawrence District Vs. Hussein Mohammed
A fresh start for Okolie, who moved up from cruiserweight, danced to bridgerweight and now brings his own unique blend of boxing to heavyweight. New promoter Frank Warren is also responsible for a change in style. German opponent Muhamed has 18 victories to his name, but the lone defeat against Zhan Kossobutskiy speaks more about his career prospects.
Aloys Youmbi vs. Lewis Oakford
A battle between two men who each suffered a defeat. Youmbi is a renowned hitter, although he was taken the full 10 rounds by Oronzo Birardi last time out, which will benefit the 21-year-old in the long run. Oakford bounced back from their first career loss with a win at York Hall in October. This is a well-suited next step for both men.
Sean Noakes vs. Matthew Rennie
Looking to build on his English welterweight title win over Inder Bassi in o2, one half of the Noakes brothers, Sean, defends his belt and 8-0 record. Opponent Matthew Rennie is also undefeated and his weight is coming down, so he should be strong. Rennie is no banger, however.
The best of the rest
Dublin power puncher Pierce O'Leary appears alongside promising Royston Barney-Smith, who takes on Andres Navarrete. Super featherweight Billy Adams and debutant George Crotty will also aim to impress.
